Johnson & Daly Moving and Storage performs dozens of specialty moves every year, including small and large gun safes. Gun safes are extremely heavy and can be difficult to move up and down flights of stairs, and around tight corners. Also, final placement of a gun safe can be tricky, depending on where the safe will be once the move is complete.
Good question! We use a specialized mechanical dolly called a Domino to move heavy and fragile items for our customers. It allows us to securely and carefully navigate uneven terrain, steps, corners, and other questionable terrain. This video demonstrates the Domino's agility in a variety of environments:
First and foremost, Johnson & Daly Moving and Storage will only move a gun safe if it is completely empty. Please remove all weapons, ammunition, and associated materials from the safe prior to our arrival. Store your guns and ammunition away in a safe, temporary location until the safe move is complete.
If you have it, provide the manufacturer and model number of the safe to Johnson & Daly Moving and Storage. This will enable us to find out the exact size and weight of the safe so we can appropriate the correct resources for your gun safe move.
Clear a path before we arrive. Whether we are moving a gun safe into it's new home, or moving it in or out as part of a local or long distance move, having a clear path through rooms and hallways for our specialized heavy item dollys and equipment will help your gun safe move proceed more quickly and efficiently.
If you have a special situation, are unsure of the best way to move your gun safe, or have any other questions about moving a gun safe, please contact Johnson & Daly for assistance. With almost four decades of professional moving experience, we can handle your unique gun safe move.
